Meike (born in 1980, The Netherlands) is a Dutch illustrator/artist. She attended the Art Academy ArtEZ in Arnhem (Fine Art) during 2007 and 2010. Creating and appreciating art is one of her greatest personal interests, and attending the Art Academy gave her an opportunity to further master her creative skills and expand both her cultural perspective and knowledge of historic art. Currently she resides in Arnhem.
Her artwork can be best described as a strong diversity of themes as it is influenced by urban scenes, street art, and the interplay between humans and nature. She doesn’t shy away from exploring different art forms and media like drawing (graphite and coloured pencil) and painting (acrylics, watercolour, and airbrush), and combining these media on canvas. Besides these art forms she also practises photography, focusing on landscape and wildlife.
